Safety and trust

Keeping Mura a good place to be.

Here’s how we protect people on Mura and what you can do if something goes wrong. The full details are in Mura’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Community rules

Everyone on Mura follows the same rules, and communities can add their own on top. These are never allowed:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others
  • Hate speech or attacks on people for who they are
  • Sexual content involving anyone under 18, in any form. We remove it and may report it to the authorities
  • Nudity or sexual content posted to people who didn’t ask for it
  • Sharing someone’s private information, photos or messages without their permission
  • Spam, scams, fraud, and fake or misleading accounts
  • Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights

Reporting and blocking

You can report posts, comments, Wall notes and people. Reporting someone also blocks them for you.

Reports of content in a community go to its moderators, who see what was reported and why, but never who reported it.

Moderation

Every community has an owner and can have moderators. They can remove posts, comments, messages and Wall notes in their community, and remove or ban people from it.

We can also remove content or suspend or delete accounts that break our terms, even when a community allows it.

Private messages

Direct messages are between the people in them. Community owners and moderators can’t see them.

When you report a direct message, that message and the ones right before and after it are shared with Mura’s moderators so they can review the report. Nothing else from the conversation is shared.

Anyone signed in to an account can see its direct messages, so use a password you don’t use anywhere else.

Your data

  • We don’t sell or rent your data to anyone
  • Mura doesn’t ask for your phone number
  • Your email address is never shown on your profile or to other people
  • The content of your private messages is never used for ads
  • Access to data is limited by rules enforced on our servers

Mura runs on trusted providers, which process data only to provide their services to us: Supabase for data and photos, Vercel for serving the app, and Resend for email.

Your account

You can see and edit your profile at any time, and delete your account in Settings. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens to your data when you do.

Young people

Mura isn’t for children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.

Meeting people

Mura doesn’t verify who people are. Be careful about what you share. If you meet someone from Mura in person, meet in a public place and tell a friend. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them.

Report a concern

Use the report option in the app, or Settings, then Help & support. You can also write to support@mura.gg.
